Is Your Resume Doing Its Job?
|
Is it opening doors to new opportunities? Does it compel the reader to think, "Hey! This applicant can ?put that one on top of the 'call in for an interview' pile!" Does it showcase what you have accomplished for past employers as well as what you can accomplish for the potential employer?
Your resume is your personal marketing tool that must immediately convey to the reader that you CAN and WILL be a positive driving force to further their organization's mission. They have a need to QUICKLY get thru all the resumes received in response to their job posting so you've got to QUICKLY grab their attention.
Numerous surveys conducted by employment professionals indicate employers want to see immediately what you can do for them upon first glance at your resume. Finding qualified applicants is an arduous time-consuming task that is not on the list of the most favorite things to do. Having to spend time reading resumes that all sound the same can put the most alert person to sleep. Your resume should make the reader sit up and take notice right away instead of inviting an afternoon siesta.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. A resume should be words packed with power that form a picture of a productive, industrious applicant in the mind's eye of the reader. It needs to immediately make a powerful and positive first impression in order to do ITS job and open the door to the interview for you.

Is A Career A Calling Or Choice?

We are given a life map at the beginning of our lives, and there are things we are meant to learn, people we are meant to meet, work we are meant to perform. But many of us are not tuned into ourselves and the signs that are presented to us. We often miss important information, and miss out on those lessons, people, and jobs. The use of free will comes about when we are presented with options. Choices are really curves in our path. To All Managers: How Does Add Affect Your Workplace?
Tent caterpillars create a cocoon for an entire colony. Within one colony there are two types of caterpillar. One type, pioneers, weave long threads forming the skeleton of the tent. The others, the workers, weave cross threads filling in the structure. If there are too many pioneers, the tent is too big and collapses. If there are not enough pioneers, the tent is too dense and the colony suffocates. Viva la difference.Within the colony of human beings we can find similar differences.
