Employment

If you're looking for that promotion or pay rise then you'll need to be noticed by your employer, so here's a few tips to stand out from the crowd:

Have a Friendly & Positive attitude towards Everyone you come into contact

Provide Service and treat Everyone as your customer

Be Professional at all times

Always look for extra work, especially when others are ducking for cover to avoid it

Watch what your colleagues are doing, copy from the ones who are receiving praise for their efforts but learn to do it better than them, while avoiding doing what your "lazier or negative" colleagues are doing

Be a Thinker and offer suggestion on how to do things better and more efficiently

Plan and follow your plan

Don't Procrastinate, do what needs to be done NOW!!

Think ahead, when ask to do A & B, do C as well

Anticipate the next question and provide the answer before you're asked

Dress and Act as if you were already in the position you want to reach

Go to lunch with successful people and learn from them

Don't be afraid to ask questions and ask for help

Avoid Office Politics

Be an Individual while being a team player

Learn everything about your company and products

Follow these tips and you won't need to ask for a promotion or extra money, it will happen automatically.

It is seldom easy to do and often painful for the person who is hearing the news.Just recently, I was involved in communicating a large layoff to employees at a Fortune 500 company. I sat with one woman after she had heard the news to tell her about the career transition services she could t...(related: Employment)

Have Some Pasta With Your Interview
When cyclists prepare for a big race, they always make sure they load up on the carbs. Which Half Are You?
When more than half of Americans were identified as overweight, people took notice. Major news outlets began educating on how to stay out, or get out, of that statistic. Disliking your job is hazardous to your health and well-being, too. You can't be winning at working if you're dissatisfied with your work or languishing in the status-quo of dislike.Spending the majority of your waking hours dissatisfied, like being overweight, weighs you down...(related: Employment)

Interview Presentation Skills: Dealing With Your Nerves
Sooner or later, the interview invitation is going to say you are required to give a presentation as part of the selection process. And like most people you may dread having to do it. You may think that you cannot speak publicly because of nervousness but all good speakers are nervous, and you can overcome those nerves. What you can do is control those nerves and make them work for you rather than against you. There are several techniques for doing this which you should be aware of:Tension should be released first in the lungs:Short, panicky breathing should be replaced by slow, deep breathing - through the nose (to prevent drying out your throat prior to speaking). This can be done quite unobtrusively as you ...(related: Employment)

Fuzzy Headed Job Goals Lead To A Fuzzy Headed Life!
