Ten Steps on Baking a Potato

A baked potato is a popular meal usually cooked for dinners. It is full of carbohydrates but it has less calories. You can top it with butter, herbs and sour cream. The ingredients you will need to make a baked potato are four big potatoes, salt and pepper. The materials you need are oven, fork, bowls, strainer, cooking or baking sheets, brush, baking rack and oil.
1. The first step on how to bake a potato is choosing good potatoes before baking. Choose Russet potatoes if it is available. Be sure that each spud does not have bruises. You should also avoid buying the ones with sprouts growing on it.
2. The second step on how to bake a potato is preparing the potatoes. Put them in a strainer and washing them over running water.
3. The third step on how to bake a potato is washing the potatoes under water that is cold. You should scrub it as well with a brush that has bristles.
4. The fourth step on how to bake a potato is poking all the potatoes. The holes should be distributed in the surface of each potato so they get baked evenly.
5. The fifth step on how to bake a potato is pouring a minimal amount of oil into a big bowl. The bowl should be big enough for a potato to fill it. Then coat the oil on the potatoes. Do these to all the potatoes
6. The sixth step on how to bake a potato is placing the coated potatoes on the baking tray. Then sprinkle all of the potatoes with salt. You can use sea salt or kosher salt.
7. The seventh step is arranging the potatoes on the rack for baking. Put the baking sheet first which will catch the drips.
8. The eight step is baking the potatoes for one hour at three hundred degrees Fahrenheit.
9. The ninth step is taking the rack out and checking if the spuds have soft insides. It should also be crispy on the outside. You can use a toothpick to help you when checking if it is done.
10. The tenth step is checking if the potatoes are already cooked. If every piece is all done then let it cool for ten minutes. You can serve it after ten minutes. You can also put sour cream on it or add more salt and pepper.
