Paul Gauguin Paintings Are The Best

Paul Gauguin was born in Paris in 1848 in a middle-class French family. His complete name was Eugene Henri Paul Gauguin but people just called him Paul Gauguin. He was an important Post-Impressionist artist, painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramist and writer. Few people know but Gauguin spent some years in Lima, Peru. Actually, he lived in Lima four years up to come back to Paris where he became a successful stockbroker. Here, he met a Danish woman, Mette-Sophie Gad, whom he marries in 1873. She will give him 5 children.

Unlike other famous painters, Paul Gauguin began the artistic career in his free time. He visited different museums and art galleries to see paintings of diverse artists. Camille Pissarro was very important in the future artistic career of Gauguin, he introduce him to several other painters. After that, Paul rented his own workshop and starts to show his paintings in Impressionist exhibitions. Time later, Gauguin decided to leave his job as stockbroker to be a painter full time. He travels to different countries to learn new techniques and different styles. Under the influence of folk art and Japanese prints, Gauguin evolved towards the manner he called Cloisonnism. Paul Gauguin was influenced by Edvard Munch. He died in The French Polynesia in 1903.
