As you are learning the ropes of network marketing recruiting you will mistakenly spend too much time talking to your prospect about how much money they can make. You are not really to be blamed because many opportunity meetings spend too much time on the money opportunity. Yes, we all want to know how much we are going to get paid, but it is not the primary motivation of the majority.

Your network marketing recruiting efforts should focus on learning your prospects primary motivations. When talking to your lead you listen to what they are saying and ask them the appropriate questions to learn what motivates them. You could even say to them straight up, “Tell me, Bob, what motivates you most in life?” Then put your listening ears on and use his top motivation as reason why your product or service is a great match.

1. The Fun Lover. Life is all about having fun to these people. They are passionate about motivating and helping others and are very talkative. The fun lover tends to need the approval of others so tell them often what a great job they are doing and how they make the business fun to be in.

2. The Perfectionist. The perfectionist will analyze everything and take time making their decisions. This person will want a step by step plan, but once they have a step-by-step plan to follow you can set them loose and they will get the job done.

3. The Cash Man. To this person, money is freedom and money is what they care about. The will make up their mind very quickly, and get started right away to get some money coming in. During a conversation with the money lover, get straight to the facts about how much money they can make.

4. The Team Player. This person wants to be on the team and form long lasting relationships. You might have to push this person to make a decision but because they are easily influenced by others, you can simply introduce them to your team and make them feel welcome.

Fully listening to your prospects desires is the most critical network marketing recruiting tactic available. Ask questions then listen closely and find out what motivates this individual. All too often recruiters are trying to hard to sell and forget about learning what the prospect really wants out of the opportunity.
