Lose Baby Weight- The Do's and Don'ts

The 9 months are up and you have had to go through dizzy spells, backaches sometimes and bizarre food cravings, but it has been worth it.You are holding up your healthy baby and you recall all the pains in the joints, the indigestion sometimes and even the terrible morning sickness you used to have and you think to yourself it has all been worth the pain. At the same time you’re looking at your body thinking you have to lose baby weight now.

Remember to bear these do's and don'ts in mind as you start taking steps to shed some of the extra pounds you have gained.
DOs

Remember that these extra pounds has taken nine months to add so do be realistic and patient when setting goals. Consequently, you can’t expect to lose baby weight in just 4 weeks. Set easier goals for yourself at the start then as you build up momentum this can be increased. Gradually begin to introduce an exercise routine into your programme. You can even start off with brisk walking for 10 - 15 minutes everyday. As you build up momentum after a few days you will discover that you will be able to go on even longer walks and gradually at a faster rate.

Do breastfeed because it is good for the baby. It also help you lose baby weight faster. I hear you ask why? Well, it just so happens that breastfeeding burns about 500 calories a day. So get rid of that bottle and share a special moment with your newborn.It is normally a very busy time when a new baby arrives, but it is essential that you get enough sleep so that you do not break down. It is crucial that you rest your body properly at a time like this. This helps to reduce tiredness and stress that cause the release of fat gaining hormone called cortisol. Don't lose your beauty sleep.

DON’TS

Try to cut down on your post pregnancy eating. If you are certain you want to lose baby weight, you need to watch the amount and kinds of food you eat to ensure that your diet does not have more than 2000 calories a day.Your diet needs to consist more of vegetables, fruits and good source of proteins such as fish, milk and beans which are also light. Take lots of water during the day. This ensures that you are not dehydrated and it also helps the digestive and excretory systems.

If you are one of those that likes working with lots of people, consider joining the gym where you can meet people in similar position for support. Join the local community events like charity walks or you could even join a weight loss program like weight watchers. Being accountable to someone else will make it less likely for you to call off Operation Lose Baby WeightDo not look for any reasons not to stay with what ever weight loss strategies or methods that you are using. Instead of driving to the local store, consider putting your baby in a buggy and walking there to burn some fat.

Try to squeeze some time for light exercise or workouts into your day obviously around time you spend with the baby. This will help keep you on course.
