How Come We Believe That Doctors And Pills Will Keep Us Well?

It is a shame that many people believe that drugs or doctors can cure an illness. We have been programmed from any early age that if we get sick we rush off to the doctor and he gives us a prescription for some pills and we become well again. We have become doctor dependent for our health and self care is not something we understand.

Drugs usually mask symptoms and make them manageable but they rarely actually cure an illness or disease. It is a bit like clipping the leaves off the weeds in the garden without any intention of pulling them out by their roots.

The companies that make drugs don't mind if we believe this misconception. They then pour even more money into multi-billion dollar advertising campaigns to widen the boundaries for illness and disease. They even go so far as to invent 'conditions' that will give us even more reason to buy into the drug solution.

Diseases don't just happen overnight. They can stalk us for years or decades unseen inside our body. By the time they show themselves it is often too late to cure them. Yet it is the sum total of things you do and don't do every single day in the previous years that arrive at a dreaded diagnosis of disease.

Yet such simple things like how much strength building and maintaining activity you do and the quality of the food you eat has huge bearing on how healthy and well you remain. We know all this and have known it for several decades yet only six out of ten adults do not do enough proper exercise to keep their body strong and healthy.

We so want a quick fix that we swallow pills in the hope that they will give us a short cut to health and wellness but no pill or doctor in the world can:

• transform your body like exercise and nutrition can
• give you unlimited energy and vitality like exercise does
• make you stronger and leaner like proper exercise does
• make you mentally and emotionally strong like exercise does
• prevent you from disease and sickness like exercise does
• give you long-lasting health for life like exercise does

It is a sad reality that we believe that health can be found in a pill. It doesn't make sense that we allow billions of dollars to be invested into drugs and research yet our health is declining to an all time low. Millions of people are suffering with painful crippling diseases, many are overweight and many more barely have the energy they need to get through each day. This is because they have violated the rules of nature in some way.

There is a desperate need for people to start taking more responsibility for their own health and wellbeing and not leave it to doctors and pills when the wheels fall off. Think of your doctor as the breakdown service. It is up to each of us to do the maintenance.

The very first and most important part of self help care is a proper exercise program made up of mostly strength training exercise to replace the muscle building and maintaining activity that has been removed from our modern day lives to make things 'easy' and 'comfortable' so we don't have to exert ourselves.

The problem is when we don't exert the human body it decays, degenerates and dies.

But it doesn't have to happen to you. You know what you need to do now so take action and get yourself started. Get some help from a fitness professional to fast track your progress and to show you how to maintain your motivation so you will have a long, healthy, strong and active life.
