Gamescom 2010: The PC Games-analysis for the final sprint Fair - The nine major trends

By: jacky tsui

If you have already used the Thursday, Friday or Saturday for a visit to the exhibition grounds in Cologne-Deutz, we look forward to your additions, comments and ideas - maybe you have a very different impression gained?

Wow, is the full ...
Both at the Games Convention and in the Gamescom premiere a year ago was the rule of thumb: "Come on best on Thursday or on Friday - as isses still half empty and you can allude more missing." Far: The ongoing school holidays in North Rhine Westphalia (and the increased importance of undisputed Gamescom) scored on Thursday and Friday for knackevolle halls, pressing tight and seemingly endless queues at the scan stations. The security staff at passages and escalators has literally got our hands full ("Please go on ... not stop ... free up stairs ...") - the number of folders is felt grown enormously over the previous year.

Boring stands
Gone are the days when Microsoft changed all areas in a jungle. Electronic Arts, or as a spectacular illuminated by the Sydney Opera House inspired booth was set up. This year the exhibition stands unsurpassed in effectiveness: less leisure, but more especially, more plywood and play stations. Leader in this discipline is Activision Blizzard: In huge isolated areas, dozens of PCs set up, where Diablo 3 and World of Warcraft: Cataclysm are playable - around it wrap long lines of Blizzard fans who take three or four hours waiting time to intervene once a mouse can. With such stands to get one hand, the aspirations of players, other game stations are of course cheaper than courses with experience inspired fortresses, space stations and fantasy forest.
