Finding Simple Back Acne Cure Options

By: Peter Williamson

Acne on the back is often more difficult to treat than facial acne. The reasons for this are that the back is the most difficult part of the body to see and so the acne outbreak is often not noticed in the early stages, as it would be on the face. And many of these lead to skin problems. The most common result is the dreaded acne on the back. And while acne is commonly considered to be a teenager’s problem, it can affect anyone and can occur on any part of the body. Back acne may not be readily visible, but by the time we notice it, it's usually a very severe problem and often quite painful; back acne should not be neglected because untreated back acne can lead to more serious skin problems and other complications.

The first key to treating back acne is to clean your skin with a good body wash. Keep in mind that the skin on your back is not as sensitive as the skin on your face, so by the time you can finally feel it, it may have already spread to other areas. When picking a body wash, check to see if it's made especially for acne outbreaks; for first time users, look for a more mild soap to start. If possible bathe at least twice a day so that the body wash can be really effective in clearing up the skin. Applying pure honey to your back on alternate days is also a good first step - leave the honey on for at least 30 minutes so it can clean and disinfect the area. A good acne soap will help you clean far down into the pores, and you should try to do this twice a day. Multivitamins can improve the ability of your body to fight an acne outbreak, particularly if your body is experiencing a breakdown in its systems. Once again start with the mild ones and work your way up to the stronger ones if needed.

Avoid itchy or harsh fabrics; treat your back kindly by wearing soft fabrics. Softer fabrics mean your skin is less irritated and the cure will have a better chance to work. But do not try to experiment with back acne cures on your own. Once you step out of the water, dry your back thoroughly with a soft towel. Just as it takes us longer to notice the acne on our back, we tend to be slow about noticing any side effects that our curative attempts may be having on our skin. Make a special effort to keep checking up on your back.
