Empowering front line service employees

In employment, the goal for every employee is to provide the best to the employer and produce high quality products or offer the best services to the employer. Most organizations in the business world have embracing employee empowerment; it is success is measured in many ways and many advantages. If not well implemented, it can be rejected because of fear or be a source company problems( Nijs, W. , 1995 and Lundy O. & Cowling A. ,2000).
There are many approaches existing for employers to measure empowerment of front-line services employees. The most current approach, performance appraisal is working well but the attitude of employee towards the system and their satisfaction with the method ought to be investigated. Given that every corporate in America today is advocating for its use, as it’s said that it provides employee with good motivation and feel as part of the company(Pfeffer J, 1992, and Lundy O. & Cowling A. ,2000).
A good working environment gives the workers the morale to work well. They become filled with a positive attitude and are able to easily identify with the company’s objectives and aims. Employees empowerment does not only enhance productivity it also impels the staff to uphold and convey the company’s true image to the customers and improvement service. The company should realize importance of employee empowerment and put the interest of the employees as a priority so that they can be able to give a positive image of the company. This is so because the employees bear the primary responsibility of making a positive impression which can only be seen through a well purchased up employee who has the right attitude and is emotional stable to represent the company to the clients( Lundy O. & Cowling A. ,2000).
If proper employee empowerment is not well implemented, it can be a source of job turnover or loss of employees even failure of the company. There are many approaches existing for employers to adapt and measure employee empowerment which leads to employee motivation and retention(Kreitz, P.A. 2008).
Many organizations usually try to cut down expenditure especially with unnecessary employee training and turnover by implementing empowerment. When an employee leaves his her position vacant, the organization has to fill up that position immediately to ensure the smooth running of the organization. Every employee who works in an organization no matter how minimal the job is that they play an important role and replacing them, means more time is wasted and as we all know ‘time is money and this results in unnecessary expenditure that may be was not budgeted for. Therefore, employee empowerment has proved to vital in this area, by retaining the staff as well as motivate them eventually increasing productivity of the company(Kreitz, P.A. 2008 and Innes, E. and Edwards, T. 1998)
