By: AndyErnestpnp

There is every chance that you could catch a large bowel cancer sometime in the future simply because somebody in your past has had it before. The disease kind of likes to stay with generations, so you ought to be more careful if someone in your family has ever had colon cancer.

Colon cancer could easily be one of the many diseases known to Americans today that are hereditary. The fact that someone in your pedigree has somehow or sometime had it before is an indication that you also could suffer from it. And pray that it is not that stubborn type which continues to expand all the time.

Very rarely can you escape chemotherapy when you have to deal with colon cancer. Painfull as this is, it comes only after you have been operated upon to remove the tumor itself. At least, the chief source of your problems has to be gotten rid of first, which is a very necessary first step to surviving the condition.

To diagnose colorectal cancer, there usually needs to be a colonoscopy. Short of this, you might never be able to tell for certain how badly you are infected or infect if you really are. So, it's worth repeating – early detection can save your life from colon cancer.

When the doctor does not expect your colon cancer to have advanced too far, you get lucky; all you need is a colonoscopy to specifically diagnose the condition. This done, you advance to stage two: the surgery. Stage three is chemotherapy. Congratulations, you just might make it through the jungle with your life!

Funny how a disease in your… er, bowels could make you to lose all your hairs. Unlikely? Well, you are wrong too. The doctor mostly needs chemotherapy to top off all your colon cancer treatment. And chemotherapy causes you to lose your hairs. But isn't it better to just lose your hair and still survive the condition?

In Canada, something close to nine thousand people die from colorectal cancer every year. This pales however, compared to the fifty five thousand that kick the bucket in the United States alone each year, following the same disease.

The Canadian Cancer Society oversees cancer situations and records each year in Canada. In the United States, the American Cancer Society does the same. Canada records each year, about 20,000 new cases of colorectal cancer, while the US records a hundred thousand.
